Sunrise Golf Village on the east side is largely 1960s and 1970s single story, standard eight by seven openings, many still on original wood jambs. The Sawgrass corridor and Sunrise Lakes areas skew to 1980s and later, with sixteen by seven two car doors and identical builder hardware across whole streets. Because the builder hung the whole run at the same time with the same cycle rated springs. Springs wear by cycles, not calendar years, so identical homes with similar use fail close together. If yours is untouched original hardware from that batch, a tune up now is worth booking.
My garage faces west and gets full afternoon sun near Sawgrass. Does that matter?
It does. An unshaded west facing garage runs hot, which thins opener grease, ages the weather seal and can warp a thin bottom section. We use a higher temperature lubricant there and recheck the opener limits, since heat swelling changes how the door meets the floor.
